This week, Caroline will turn 11. My little artist and gymnastics girl. We will celebrate with a family gathering and by putting up our Christmas tree, her request. I am a rather, wait until December! We got our tree last year on her birthday, and it seems, she wants to make this tradition. End of 10...coming soon.

a table
Last year…
We have loved this table !
Last fall I dreamed of a new table. Jeff and I went to the hardware store and picked out the boards/4x4* and got started building it. I sealed the top with a finishing wax (pictured) and have really liked it.
*plus one leg cut from a 4x4 section we already had.

weekending and beginning
November has been so warm and we have had lots of rain, the garden is loving that.
I'm ready for more seasonable temperatures, even if it means no more tomatoes.
It will assuredly mean soup.
Monday reset today, after a busy weekend.
The chickens are still laying, as first year pullets do.
I'm thinking of egg salad for lunch and maybe a fritatta for supper.
Enjoy your Monday!

November days
I'm not sure where September and October went. I have some photos from my favorite months of the year. I tend not to pick favorites of things, not because I don't want to commit, but because it's too hard to choose. I don't like to choose favorites. The months of the year tho...that is an easy choice. They say time fly's when you're having fun, and I guess that really is the truth. One minute it was a hot August day and now here we are almost to mid November, what? I chose a few photos that captured the essence of the months. Making cozy in the home. I changed out the light and airy, for the cozier fabrics and quilts. I've made fried rice, pots of soup, chicken stock, coffee, tea and of course there has been knitting.
There was also a soap making class~ what a fun time getting ready for and teaching a soap making workshop.
