It's been a couple days worth of "fix it". You know, the little things that aren't working like they should. Things that are easily ignored (for a while) until one day you just decide to fix it! It started with the master bath (shower). It needed a new faucet/shower director contraption. At first it was just a bit less of a flow and then I started showering under a trickle. An easy fix, or so it should have been, had the tiny bit of research been done. No problem~ after 3 trips to the hardware store, ahem. The shower is full blast and powerful once again. After that was taken care of, on to our garbage can. It is the kind the city supplies to wheel to the curb for collection. It's been broken for a while and we have been managing it. They brought us a brand new one today! Next up was the front door deadbolt. It sticks bad and the other night Emily couldn't unlock it~ added to the list. Fixed today, easily. Took lock apart, sprayed WD-40, put lock back together. Fixed! Lastly the railing for the stairs was, well, wiggly. Ever so slightly but I heard it each time someone went up or down. Tightened all the screws and while I was there cleaned the railing and the banister. Nothing overly complicated and little "fix it"s that just are minor problems and easy to ignore. I'll be on the hunt the rest of the day for more little things to check off the list. As we go into late fall and then on into winter it just feels good to have things in working order.
In other news, gifts for the birthday girl are starting to arrive from family far away. Excitement is building. We also started drying some oranges to use for our holiday decorating.
Speaking of holidays, can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here? I think I'll start a list now:)
